Yusuf Bodiat, CA(SA), Cert.Dir®, is the founder of Pragmatic Thinking, an advisory practice working with boards and finance leaders. He spent fifteen years in senior finance, most of it in regulated insurance and financial services, including chief financial officer and executive director of a specialist insurer and head of finance and investment at an African sovereign risk platform. He chairs four board committees across two licensed insurers.

His book, The Bottom Line: A CFO’s Blueprint for South Africa’s Turnaround, published in February 2026 with a foreword by Francois Pienaar, introduces the five CFO Levers™: a framework for strengthening credibility, driving clarity, and leading with integrity. It was named to the Exclusive Books Recommended List in March 2026.
